New on Netflix: The final season of the perfect series for a bad mood

Do you want to watch a series where you can just forget all your worries? Then watch “Jane The Virgin”, which is now all five seasons on Netflix. And whoever thinks now: Sew, that’s such a telenovela – that’s not true!

The fifth and final season of the comedy series “Jane The Virgin” was already running in the USA in the summer of 2019 – so this is xmovies8 of the now rare cases in which it really takes a while before we see the season in German in Germany to get:

Starting today (July 28, 2020) you can watch the fifth season of “Jane The Virgin” on Netflix.

If you want to know how the series will end, you can spoil yourself on the internet for a long time, if you want to be surprised by the finale of the warm-hearted series, you prefer to avoid fan forums and watch Netflix directly.

“Jane The Virgin”: laughing, crying, cheering

The fifth season brings with it another 20 episodes, which are appropriately called “chapters”, because the main character Jane is a book author – and after 100 chapters the series then ends with a double episode.

Why does the series help against a bad mood? Well, the story of Jane Gloriana Villanueva (Gina Rodriguez) is the perfect distraction from everyday life, where there is a lot to laugh, a little to cry and to sigh.

Why does the series help against a bad mood?

“Jane The Virgin” is loosely based on the Venezuelan telenovela “Juana La Virgen” – but the US production puts the whole thing on as a satirical telenovela, a series that retains the over-dramatic soap opera plot, but knows about itself that it is a telenovela and therefore doesn’t take itself that seriously. And that makes them one thing above all: incredibly funny.

Dissolution of the cliffhanger

For fans, it will be especially exciting to see how the cliffhanger from the end of season four will be resolved and what that means for Jane’s future – and of course how the whole story will end in the end (we’re boldly guessing: good!).

Those who do not know the series yet, but have now become curious, can now bend their way through all five seasons on Netflix and experience right from the start how the virgin Jane is accidentally artificially fertilized and what chaotic consequences this has for her life.

And not just for her: For her family, including the self-loving actor-dad Rogelio (Jaime Camil) – on whose crap the cheesy photo shoot of Jane and her son grew, the result of which you can see in the news picture – it will be too pretty turbulent.

Award-winning series

The fact that the series is really more than shallow entertainment, as one might suspect with the title and the easy-going presentation, is also proven by numerous prizes: leading actress Gina Rodriguez has, among other things, for the leading role won a Golden Globe, the series has garnered nominations and awards over the years at the Globes, Emmys, People’s Choice Awards, AFI Awards and many more.
